Walter Michael Broadbent, Jr. passed into the arms of the angels on Saturday, September 21, 2013 surrounded by family and friends. He was born on Monday, July 17, 1944 in Jersey City, New Jersey and has resided in Florida for the past 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mary (Carr) Broadbent, and nephew Joseph Henneka. Walter proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman Apprentice. Upon discharge, he relocated to South Florida and began a career with American Express until his retirement 10 years ago. Wally is survived by his sister, Margaret Henneka; niece, Carol Carnavale and her husband, Vincent; special nephews, Joseph & Anthony Carnavale; his devoted partner, Louis Lopez; special canine pal,Toto; and many friends and neighbors. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for expressions of sympathy to be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital or to a charity of one's choice in memory of Wally.
