Vinzenz Hofer, 95, of Parkland, Florida passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Apolonia Hofer, and his loving son Julian Hofer, his father, Franz Hofer, mother, Maria Kepplinger, brothers, Franz and Maximilian, and sister, Maria Barth. He is survived by his son Franz (Donna) Hofer, daughter-in-law, Carol Winn Hofer, grandchildren Christina (Angelo), Caitlyn (Nicholas), Cristin (Noy), and Josef (Jess), his great granddaughter Olivia, his brother Josef (Marianna), sister Mathilde Kapfer, sister-in-law, Erika Hofer and many nieces and nephews.

Vinzenz was born in the beautiful town of Niederwaldkirchen, Austria. As salutatorian (he was a smart cookie) of his class, he obtained a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and spent most of his career as a design engineer drawing detailed schematics and overseeing the manufacturing and implementation of these systems. Vinzenz spoke three languages, German, Spanish, and English.

He left Austria to take an engineering job in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in the early fifties that lead to the serendipitous meeting of the love of his life, Apolonia (Polita). Polita was visiting from Mallorca, Spain, where she was born, and their first meeting was a blind date on New Year's Eve. They were married in 1956 and spent a lifetime together living in the Dominican Republic and the United States until Polita passed away in 2012. They were devoted Catholics and lived a faith filled life together. His celebration of life will take place here in Coral Springs, Florida, then Vinzenz will be taken back to Santo Domingo for his eternal rest next to his dear Polita.
