Stanley Richard Young III, 71, of Coral Springs, FL passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015 at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Stan was born on October 14, 1943 in Baltimore, MD to Stanley & Ann Young.
On November 28, 1964, Stanley married the love of his life, Carol Ann Young. That same year, Stan joined the United States Army. After his discharge, Stan began working for Internal Revenue Service as a Criminal Investigator. In January of 1983, the Young family made the move from Baltimore to Coral Springs due to a job transfer. After retirement from IRS, Stan joined the Fraud Investigations Department of Coral Springs Police Department where he remained for 16 years.
Stan was a gentleman. He was quick witted and very intelligent. Over the years, he enjoyed travelling, cooking and creating his own recipes, cactus gardening and collecting model cars. Stanley is survived by his son, Stanley "Rick" Young IV and daughters, Cynthia "Cindy" Scheetz, and Amanda Young. Also left to cherish his memory are his adoring grandchildren, Mason, Austin, Kyle, and Brayden; and his siblings, Alan, Dennis, and Wendy Young. He was preceded in death by his beloved Carol in 2013.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Coral Springs Funeral Home, 1420 N. University Drive, Coral Springs, FL 33071. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the funeral home. Stan will be laid to rest at South Florida National Cemetery on Monday, January 12, 2014 at 11:15 A.M. with Military Honors. If desired, donations may be made to American Cancer Society in Stan's memory.
