Mother, grandmother and a devout Buddhist, Shu-Rong McMellon lived life unquestionably on her own terms.  In her late twenties, she lived and worked in Taipei, Taiwan until she met and married Jesse Doyce, an American engineer in 1971.  With her new husband and her 5 year old daughter, Shu-Rong made a new home in Richardson, Texas.  Shu-Rong had many challenges throughout her life, including the death of her husband in 1975, but she always found ways to overcome obstacles.  She sought the positive, thus good fortune always came her way.  Shu-Rong worked and retired from AT&T with over 30 years of service.  She was able to provide a good life for her daughter, Kathy, who graduated from college and married Mitch. Both metal sheep, her grandson, John, and Shu-Rong both share similarities in kindness, sensitivity, congeniality and their loving nature.  In November of 1980, Shu-Rong became an SGI member.  She was very active in her religious community and members remember her kindness as well as her generosity and her love to do Shakubuku.  Shu-Rong is survived by her daughter, Kathy, son-in-law, Mitch and grandson, John.

A Memorial Service for Shu-Rong will take place on
July 20, 2019 at 1PM.
