Robert "Bob" John Behan, April 5, 1958 – October 25, 2019
Robert "Bob" John Behan passed away suddenly on October 25, 2019. Bob was born April 5, 1958 in the Bronx, NY, to proud parents Margaret and Robert Behan (predeceased). He was selected to supervise undercover operations in 1995. He Continued to serve the Department in various roles until his retirement in 2008. Always involved in law enforcement operations, Bob returned to the department after a short time to serve as Range Master and reserve officer.
In 2005, Bob married Anna Tiracio, and gained an instant family, serving as a father figure to Anna's children: Anthony, Ashley and Edward Gorgone; and Pop-Pop to grandson, Luca. He is survived by his sister, Megan Stoyer, (Jeff) and nephew Liam. Bob is predeceased by his brothers Patrick, Thomas and Gerard Behan. After nearly 40 years of service with the City of Coral Springs Police Department, Bob was well-known by thousands of residents, business owners and law enforcement partners from local, state and federal agencies. Bob's brother, Patrick, was killed in the line of duty in 1990, while serving as a deputy sheriff with the Broward Sheriff's Office. This tragic incident, coupled with his admiration of the brothers and sisters he served alongside, drove Bob's passion to provide the most comprehensive and advanced training available. The safety of the men and women who protect our communities was something Bob truly cared about, and what he provided right up until his untimely passing.
