Selenia Valdez, 62 beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother took her last breath on Thursday January 13th, 2022. She is survived by her Husband of 40 years, Rene A. Valdez. As well as her Children Rene Valdez (Tato) and Danny Valdez. Also Left to cherish her Memory is her Grandson Gabriel Valdez, her Daughter in Law Sabrina Valdez, nieces, nephews and all of her Family and friends.
Selenia was born on September 17th 1959 in Brooklyn, New York to her parents Jose and Emilia Rivera. She spent her early years in Brooklyn, New York. Before her and her Husband met, Selenia worked as Secretary for Seiko Watches. Everyday Selenia had to take the train to work and that's where she met her Husband Rene. They would conversate day by day on their train rides until one day Rene asked her out. Selenia then replied "Sure, meet me at church". They were married a year later on March 20th 1982. Selenia and Rene continued to reside in New York city where they Welcome their 1st born Rene (Tato) Valdez on August 24th 1983. Later Selenia and Rene move to Margate FL for new sites, Warm weather and a job opportunity. Selenia became a Certified Teachers Assistant, where she taught ESL for Several Years. On October 1st 1990 they welcomed their second born Joseph Daniel Valdez (Danny).
Selenia then became a full time mom. She took her sons to all of their Sport games, planned many vacations and lots of parties. Selenia loved to Host events in her home, Birthdays or any other occasion. She also loved to cook and bake. Every Birthday and Holiday there was a special cake on the table for her family, the house décor to fit as well. Selenia was a child of God and kept him close to her heart. She made sure to instill the love of God in her children and started also with her Grandson. Selenia was a member of Church by the Glades where she was part of the Youths Ministry and worked in a program called God behind bars. Where she will help incarcerated individuals build a relationship with God. Selenia was full of life and left a special memory with everyone she touched. We will continue to keep her in our memory as God has. Till we meet again ❤
