Salvatore Joseph DeSantis of Coral Springs, Florida, passed away on June 10th at the age of 92. Born and raised in the Bronx, Sal was a true New Yorker raising his family in Yorktown Heights

Beloved husband of Frances DeSantis, loving father of Laura and her husband Bob; Joanne, and Guy. Dear brother of Mendy, Mario, Tony, and Philip. Cherished grandfather of 10 grandchildren: Michelle, Jennifer, Lauren, and Christopher Magyar; Mackenzie, Raegan and Avery Lynch; and Cole, Celine, and Kyle DeSantis. He was also the adored "great grandpa" of Alexandra and Sean Brady and Dev Mehta.

Salvatore, fondly known as Sally, Pops, Grandpa Florida, and most notoriously Big Sal, was a man who wore many hats. More hats than his family could count. He was a World War II veteran, New York City Firefighter for 25 years, a baseball player, and a high school baseball coach, and more. He cherished his family and friends above all else, though good food, good wine, and good music were all a close second. Big Sal's thirst for life was bigger than life itself. He made every effort to live each of God's moments to the absolute fullest.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday July 20th, 2019 ( what would have been Sal's 93 ^rd Birthday ) at 2pm at Coral Springs Funeral Home, located at 1420 North University Drive, Coral Springs, FL .

In lieu of flowers the family welcomes donations to Saint Jude's Children's  Hospital .
