Salvatore "Sammy" Thomas Calandrino passed away on December 13, 2019. He was 96. Sal was born on July 21, 1923.

On October 7, 1944, he was united in marriage to his soul mate, Nancy Calandrino, who he is with again after 13 years. Sal's greatest passions in life were family, friends, golfing and at 96 still went out dancing. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle.

Sal touched the lives of so many with his warm and happy personality, and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. He will be greatly missed by all those who were lucky to have known him.

Salvatore was predeceased by his wife of 61 years Nancy and his daughter Colette. He is survived by his son, Stephen, Sr. (Lauri); grandchildren Melissa (Seth), Christopher, Janessa (James), Derek (Olga), Elyse, Dominic, and Stephen, Jr., great-grandchildren Ethan, Jake and Phoebe, many nieces and nephews, and of course Olga, his favorite person on earth when he left it.

Relatives and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 from 10:30-12:30 with service immediately following. A memorial service will be at 2:15 at Star of David, 7701 Bailey Road, N. Lauderdale.

In lieu of flowers, please go have an experience. Go out to dinner, have some fun, and dance, just how Sal would've wanted it.
