It is with the heaviest of hearts and profound sadness, that we announce the passing of Roy E Bassel on April 26, 2025.

Roy was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, and Family Member to all humans he encountered. Roy was a proud Veteran of the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Military and served in the Korean War. He served his country with great honor and pride, wearing it selflessly on his sleeve by demonstrating a Life of Service to others.

Roy's zest for for life was immeasurable and his energy was unmatched, it was contagious to anyone who came into contact with him. He was a true Character that embodied authenticity, loyalty, love, compassion, pride, and perseverance.  Roy was a true Gift to us all and he leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and countless cherished memories by all who knew him, especially his kind heart and remarkable humility.

Roy touched the lives of so many, including his family, friends, and even strangers alike but his greatest strength was to make everyone feel like Family. Whether through quiet acts of kindness, support, or a long story that would brighten even the dimmest lights in the room-leaving everyone laughing and full of life. He was a Legendary human being and he will continue to leave a lasting impact on all that were fortunate enough to know him, for all eternity. Thank you for the unforgettable life and memories you have given us Roy E Bassel.

He is survived by his daughter Joanne, grandson Eric, granddaughter Erin, and great grandchildren Madelynn and Maysie.

Roy's Funeral and visitation services will be held at Coral Springs Funeral Home [ 1420 N. University Drive, Coral Spring FL 33071 ] on May 8, 2025 from 3-7PM, with a Veteran's Honors Service to take place at 6:00PM-6:15PM. Any persons that would like to speak or share on his behalf will follow.

Following the service we invite you to join us at El Camino to celebrate his life at his favorite restaurant and extended family.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
