Roosevelt "Castro" Edwin Gillett-Chambers, 54, of Margate, Florida and St. Catherine, Jamaica, passed away, Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Northwest Medical Center.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 pm, Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Savino-Weissman Funeral Home, 2950 North State Road 7, Margate, Florida 33063. Roosevelt was born, October 16, 1960 in Spanish Town, Jamaica to Rendell Gillett-Chambers and Daphne Robinson. He graduated from St. Jago High School, Spanish Town, Jamaica. On November 5, 1994, he married the former Eleanor Abrahams in Kingston, Jamaica.

Roosevelt was a retired bank manager, a Justice of the Peace, a Kiwanian and a wonderful husband, father, brother and friend. Castro enjoyed working and only retired a few years prior to his passing. He was an avid fisherman and a member of the Kiwanis Club of Spanish Town. He spent most of his weekends fishing, and he also enjoyed family activities, any organized event and technology.

Roosevelt is survived by his wife, Eleanor; 3 children, Theodore, Danielle, and Zachary; and brothers, sisters, several nieces and nephews and extended family.
