Obituary

How do you sum up a life in a few short paragraphs? We'll give it a go. First, there are the facts.

Robert M Zajic, Jr., 52, of Coral Springs, Florida passed away unexpectedly on June 26, 2017. He was born on February 19, 1965 in Greenport, Long Island, New York to Robert and Donna Zajic and moved to Coral Springs, Florida in 1977. Bobby is survived by his wife of 28 years, Charice, his sons Robert (Robby) and Joseppe (Joey) Zajic, parents Robert and Donna Zajic, sisters Kari Zajic-Simeone and Amy Zajic-Hoffman, brother-in-law Richard Simeone, mother and father-in-law Vincent and Barbara Oliveri, sister and brother-in-law Laurette and Josh Homan, nieces Milan and Meiling Homan and Meghan and Madison Hoffman along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Party of four....

Bobby and his wife Charice were high school sweethearts. Where you found one, the other wasn't far behind. They were a fun couple who said I do in 1989 (that was when a gallon of gas was .97 cents, let that sink in). Bobby was a good husband and very devoted to taking care of his wife and providing a good life for her (and her 347 rescued pets). As a couple, they always envisioned themselves as parents. After a very long and anticipated wait, Bobby and Charice were blessed with two amazing sons. Bobby took great pride in being a father right away. He cheered the boys on the soccer field and even coached Joey's team (not even knowing much about the game). Both of the boys competed in karate for years, and the family traveled to competitions all over the state. Bobby never hesitated taking them to practice, helping with routines or complaining when he felt the judging was unfair. When not participating in sporting activities, he and the boys enjoyed fishing, going to the gun range and watching movies together. The whole family loved Halloween and every year Bobby and the boys would plan and build a haunted house for the whole neighborhood to enjoy. When it was time for Robby to learn to drive, Bobby had quite the patience (and panic attacks) teaching him. Spending time with his boys was something Bobby enjoyed doing, even if he had to force them to hang with their old man.

Protecting South Florida since 1979...

Besides his family, one of Bobby's greatest accomplishments was heading the family business, Inter State Security Corporation. Bobby took great pride in expanding and promoting the business throughout Broward, Dade and Palm Beach counties. He had endless business contacts and colleagues. He was loved in the city of Coral Springs and was welcomed and well known throughout the town. Bobby frequently sponsored local children's sports teams, fundraisers and charity events in the company's name. Upon researching some client reviews, one summed him up perfectly "He is hard working, reliable, honest, dedicated and lives up to his promises". That was business Bobby in a nutshell. He loved making his in laws legacy flourish.
Bobby was an active member and Sergeant at Arms of the Republican Business Network. He was also a member of the Tamarac Chamber of Commerce, Coral Springs Chamber of Commerce and the NRA.

Now the fun stuff...

To really honor the memory of a life taken too soon, you must remember not just what he was but who he was. Bobby was a colorful and incredible storyteller. He could turn even the most mundane story into something that would make you laugh with his animated words and gestures. His laugh was infectious. He would cry tears from laughing so hard. He really cracked himself up. Then there were the inappropriate jokes. Bobby had a never ending supply of politically incorrect jokes that would even make Howard Stern squirm. You had to have pretty thick skin to hang with Bobby. He had a talent for finding your insecurities and teasing you relentlessly about them BUT, that's how you know he liked you. To the outside world, Bobby appeared to be the stereotypical tattooed biker but he was also the guy that called his Mom every day. Bobby was a motor head, he would never miss the opportunity to look under the hood of a classic Camaro. But nothing quite compared to his love for Harley Davidson motorcycles. If you asked him, no bike compares to that American made hog. He loved the freedom of riding a motorcycle and the wind blowing in his hair. He felt free from worry on his bike. While his choice of motorcycles was a popular one, his choice of football teams was quite the opposite. After all, he was a die hard NY Jets fan. Bobby loved to talk about politics..as long as you agreed with him. He was patriotic and loved to debate. Upon meeting new people, his first question was often, "so, who did you vote for?" You always hoped the answer was the "correct" one and if it wasn't, you instantly regretted it.

So many accomplishments, so very many successes. A wealth of hopes and dreams fulfilled, days and days well-lived and now a legacy to celebrate.
Bobby lives on in our memories and in the stories that we continue to share. He will forever be missed.
