Robert Joseph McPhillips, 77, of Tamarac, FL died peacefully after a long illness on Thursday, August 14, 2014 under Vitas Hospice Care. Robert was born January 26, 1937 in Yonkers, NY to Joseph and Sally McPhillips. Mr. McPhillips was born and raised in Yonkers. He served in the US Air Force from 1954 till 1962. He received his Bachelor's degree from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY in 1982. He married his beloved wife, Terri, on April 15, 1961 and they raised a family. In 1997, Bob and Terri moved to South Florida. Bob was an extremely devoted father and husband that was proud of his children and grandchildren. He loved to travel, especially to Europe or on a cruise. Bob enjoyed a glass of scotch at family functions, watching History Channel and reveled himself a fantastic story teller. In his free time, he would go to the local casinos to gamble a couple of dollars. He is survived by his wife, Theresa "Terri" McPhillips; his children, Robert Joseph McPhillips Jr., Mark Anthony (Denise) McPhillips, Brian McPhillips, Sean (April) McPhillips, Scott Patrick (Rebecca) McPhillips, and Tara Marie (Mikhael) Halper; his grandchildren, Domenic Halper, Courtney, Michael, Mark Jr., Nicholas, Brandon, Brooklyn, J.D., Stephen, Teddy, Katie, Connor, and Brayden McPhillips. He also leaves his nieces and nephews, Patricia & Kurt Strobach, Christina (David) Goldman, Diana Strobach, Linda (Lorrene Adams) Hendricks, Donald Parks, Tracy Parks, Benita Parks, and Donna Gradzski; and his siblings, Marilyn Parks & Lorelei (Chet) Gradzski to cherish his memory. Family and friends may call on Saturday, August 16, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Coral Springs Funeral Home, 1420 N. University Drive, Coral Springs, FL 33071. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 8:00 P.M.
