Richard "Richie" H. Wentz, 48, of Coral Springs, Florida passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Broward Health Coral Springs. Richie was born on Saturday, August 8, 1964 to Robert Wentz and Jennie Osso in Bronx, New York. Richie enjoyed cooking, wildlife and helping friends and family alike. As a detective for the New York Police Department and volunteer fireman for the city of Long Beach he enjoyed helping others every day. Richie was the head of security for Stoneman Douglas High School and will be deeply missed by his family. He was preceded in death by his father Robert in 2007 and is survived by his mother: Jennie, fianc: Christine, sons: Kyle and Thomas, daughter: Jenna, extended family: Kaitlyn, Ashley and Nico, 3 brothers: Robert, Nicky (Donna) and William, 2 Aunts, 2 nieces: Kristen and Jessica, 2 Grandsons: Sean and Michael and his 2 dogs: Melody and Bella. In lieu of flowers the family requests to make a kind gesture and to think of Richie when you do it.
