IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard Lewis
Pecorino Sr.
June 19, 1943 – September 28, 2025
Richard Lewis Pecorino Sr., 82, went home to be with the Lord on September 28, 2025, just three months after his beloved wife, Sarah Marie Pecorino. He was born on June 19, 1943, in Brooklyn, NY, and grew up in Lake Hopatcong, NJ, the son of Barney John Pecorino and Rose Davis Pecorino.
Richard proudly served in the United States Navy from October 1961 to February 1966, continuing in the Reserves until October 1967. He spent his career in the marine industry, rising to head foreman of the paint department at Derecktor‑Gunnell Shipyards, a large yacht marina in Dania Beach, FL, where he was respected and admired by all who worked under him.
A man of few words, Richard was known for his sensitivity, humility, and generosity. His grandchildren, Cody and Maddy, brought him immense joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He loved deeply, treasured his family, and expressed gratitude in all he did. He enjoyed country music, NASCAR, his wife's Italian meals, time spent on the lake when he was young, and creatively fixing things. Family gatherings, holidays, and traditions were a source of happiness throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Gregory Brian Pecorino.
Richard is survived by his son, Richard Lewis Pecorino Jr.; daughter, Gina Renee Sanford; grandson, Cody Joseph Harden Pecorino; granddaughter, Madeline Michelle Sanford; sister, Carole Dolores Kelson; and brother, Allen Dennis Pecorino. He is also remembered fondly by his extended family, including cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends who loved him dearly.
Richard's life was defined by his devotion to family, his role as a provider, and his generosity. He loved and cared for those closest to him in countless ways, and his quiet strength, gentle heart, and beautiful smile will be remembered by all who knew him.
The Celebration of Life Service for Richard Lewis Pecorino Sr. will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Calvary Chapel Boca Raton, 1551 W Camino Real, Boca Raton, FL 33486, in the small chapel.
