IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard E.
Dandeneau
January 12, 1952 – September 12, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Dandeneau, of Coral Springs, FL, our loving husband, father, and Pop Pop, who left our Earth on September 12, 2022. Rich leaves behind his beloved wife of 49 years, Mary Anne Chobanian Dandeneau, daughters Alicia Dandeneau (Jason Tavares) and Marissa Dandeneau Deimling (Chris Deimling), and beautiful grandchildren, Avery, Payton, Maddix, and Joseph. He is also survived by brothers, Andre and Gerald Dandeneau and is predeceased by his brother, David, and parents, Esdras and Lucille. He was a loving brother-in-law and uncle.
Richard was born on January 12, 1952 to Esdras and Lucille Dandeneau in The Bronx, NY. He grew up in Elwood, Long Island, where he graduated from John Glenn High School before moving to Port Charlotte, FL, where he met Mary Anne Chobanian, the love of his life. Mary Anne couldn't resist his blond hair and blue eyes. He swept her off her feet and they were married in Providence, RI on October 21, 1973, seven months after their first date. They would have been celebrating their 49th wedding anniversary this year.
Rich had a long career on the railroad, working for Amtrak for nearly 25 years, building and repairing tracks from Providence to Miami. This led to the family's relocation to South Florida in 1984.
Richard was a family man who found his peace and relaxation at the beach; he loved to cook and was always enthusiastically ready to teach others how to make his famous gravy and meatballs. Rich loved animals with all his heart; he was a true cat whisperer. He was a die-hard New England Patriots fan who never wavered in his devotion to the team.
A celebration of Rich's life will take place Friday, September 16, 2022, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at Coral Springs Funeral Home, 1420 N. University Drive. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society
