Phyllis Marie Anselona, 74, of Coral Springs, FL passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016 after a valiant battle with cancer. Phyllis was born on October 6, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY to Peter and Ann Potenza. She married her beloved late husband, George, in 1961. Together they raised 3 children.

Phyllis enjoyed several part time jobs. The most memorable of these was as an opera singer with Concert Company. She was a talented painter and a writer of terrific poems. Phyllis also had a passion for dance, but only with her true love George.

Phyllis traveled throughout much of Europe; most recently visiting England with her daughter, April. Her favorite destination was Italy, where she spent a month with her beloved husband. Phyllis had a unique ability to organize everything and maintain the cleanest home at all times. She was known for her large collection of tchotchkes, which consisted of treasures from abroad and "cute" decorations found in local stores.

A devoted woman of God, Phyllis has been a member of the Mary Help of Christians parish for many years. Her beautiful smile, soft touch, and kind words will long be cherished by her family.

Phyllis is survived by her adoring children, April, Charlie (wife, Suzanne), and Michele (husband, Hector); her grandchildren, Rachel, Phillip, Elizabeth, Kimberly, and Hector; and her siblings, Robert (wife, Christine) his children Dawn and Michael, and sister Linda (daughter, Alyssa; son, sal). Also left to cherish her memory is her Shih Tzu-Yorkie, Hennesy.

Friends may call on Thursday, March 10, 2016 and Friday, March 11, 2016 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church on University Drive in Parkland.
