IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Phillip E.
Tubell
July 9, 1942 – October 12, 2023
Phillip Emile Tubell, born July 9th, 1942, passed away Thursday, October 12th, 2023. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida and lived in Jacksonville most of his adult life. He is survived by his loving son, Sir Phillip Augustus Tubell, daughter-in-law, Ursula Tubell, and twin baby granddaughters, Aila and Viena Tubell, his sister, Yvonne Tubell Shahoud, nephews, Joseph and Ryan Shahoud, cousins John Yanni, Marilyn Yanni Nofal, Loraine Yanni Lassiter, and Claudette Haddad McDonough, and of course, his much-loved companion, his dog Perdygirl.
Phillip, a veteran, served in the United States Navy, and was stationed at the Naval Air Base in Jacksonville. He married his high school sweetheart, Jacqueline Smith, with whom he was married for a brief year and a half, only to lose her to heart failure after giving birth to his first son, Errol Glynn Tubell. Errol predeceased Phillip, passing away at the age of 30 due to a heart attack.
A few years after Jacqueline's death, Phillip married Dianna Snipes, who blessed him with another baby boy, Sir Phillip. When the marriage to Dianna ended in divorce, having custody, he lovingly raised Sir Phillip all by himself. He was a very loving and devoted father, and was so very proud of the fine young man that his son is today. He was so grateful to see that his son is happily married now to Ursula, and they had blessed him with two precious baby granddaughters.
Through the years, Phillip worked at various jobs, such as operating cranes and other heavy equipment for road construction, etc, but mainly he worked for various companies as a truck driver, making local deliveries, and was also an experienced auto and truck repair mechanic. His whole life, he had a great love of trains, and could tell you in great detail the history of just about any railroad. Through the years, he acquired a large collection of model trains. In fact that passion for trains also lead him to actually work for a railroad for some time during his career.
Phillip had many friends and was loved by everyone who knew him, friends as well as family members, and he will certainly be remembered and missed by all of us.
