In Loving Memory of Paulino Dominguez
June 4, 1937 – October 27, 2026
Paulino Dominguez, 89, passed away on October 27, 2026, at his home in Tamarac, Florida.
Paulino was born on June 4, 1937, in Mouruás, Ourense, Spain, to Paulino Dominguez and Consuelo Yañez. Born during the Spanish Civil War, he eventually moved to Barcelona before immigrating to New York, where he met and married Andrea Aguilera. Together, they raised three children: LuLu Rodriguez (Osmundo Rodriguez), Paul Joseph Dominguez, and George Dominguez (Susan Dominguez). He was also a proud grandfather to three grandchildren: Samantha Dominguez (Victoria Cimino), Daniel Dominguez (Emma Dominguez), and Rebecca Dominguez.
Paulino was a husband, father, uncle, brother, brother-in-law, and friend to many. Over the years, he had "adopted" so many family members that he was lovingly called Abuelo by far more than just his grandchildren.
Abuelo lived a long, full life. A life filled with love, laughter, hardships, lessons, and memories that will continue to live on through the generations he leaves behind.
He worked hard in the construction industry, building a future for himself and his family. He was a feisty, stubborn, tough-as-nails kind of man who was never afraid to speak his mind. You never had to wonder what Abuelo was thinking because he would be the first to tell you!
But just as fiercely as he spoke his mind, he loved his family. He wasn't afraid to show you how much you meant to him, and beneath that tough exterior was a heart that loved deeply.
Life wasn't always easy for him. He faced his share of struggles, battles, and difficult seasons, but one thing that never changed was his strength. He carried that same stubborn determination and toughness with him until the very end. If there was one thing Abuelo knew how to do, it was keep fighting, no matter what life threw his way.
He loved cooking. It was one of the things that defined him, and he loved sharing that passion with his family and friends. Food was such a central part of who he was. Through his cooking, Abuelo made sure we experienced a little piece of his world.
The recipes and traditions he leaves behind are something truly special. Those recipes will continue to be made, shared around family tables, and passed down through generations. What a beautiful thing it is to know that a piece of him will always be present in those moments.
When someone has lived a long, good life, there's a certain peace in knowing they experienced so much, loved so many, and left behind a lifetime of memories. But no matter how many years we're blessed to have someone, saying goodbye is never easy.
You can be thankful for the years and still wish you had just a little more time.
Abuelo's life taught us something we should never forget: Be strong, stand your ground, love your people, and no matter what life throws at you, take the bull by the horns.
Don't back down just because life gets hard. Face it head-on, just like he did.
We will miss his voice, his stories, his cooking, and even that stubborn streak of his. But most of all, we will miss simply having him here
