Paul Warren Merzbacher, 72, of Parkland, FL died on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Broward Health Coral Springs. Paul was bornMay 12, 1942in Hempstead, NY to Paul and Margaret Merzbacher. At the tender age of 21, Paul married the love of his life, Joanne. Together they shared 50 amazing years of love, happiness, and pure joy even through the hardest times.Paul worked as a groundskeeper for a golf course on Long Island before realizing the potential he held as anentrepreneur. He began his own irrigation company in Port Jefferson Station, NY which is still in operationtodayunder the direction of his sons. Paul and Joanne retired to South Florida after Paul suffered a stroke. A truly amazing man, he loved his family above all else and taught them the importance of forgiveness, caring for others, and to never go to bed angry. His character was one that all should strive to be like. He loved to laugh and make others laugh with him. Paul's favoritepastimeswere football and baseball, especially if the Yankeeswere playing. He also loved to spend time playing blackjack at the casinos. Paul issurvived by his beloved wife, Joanne Merzbacher Children: Walter (Terri) Merzbacher, David (Katherine) Merzbacher, and Beth (Richard) Laggan Grandchildren: Alexandria, Paul, Cassidy, Samantha, Matthew, Sabrina, Sophia, and Angelina and a sister: Lilly Johnson He was preceded in death by his siblings, Grace Rabell and Walter Osbourne.
