Our dad was a wonderful, loving, proud man who was married to our mom for 62 years. They were together for almost 70 years. They started dating at age 14. They raised 4 great kids together and he was the proud grandfather of 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Dad was a mason contractor who worked with his father Tony and his brother Joe as "Maietta and Son's". Years later he owned and operated his own business for over 40 years. He was well known for his custom stone and brick work and never needed to advertise. He had hands of gold and everyone wanted him to do their work. Dad was one of the most well respected men in the Five Towns, New York. Dad taught his children about integrity. He taught us never to lie, cheat or steal. Those were very important attributes in his life. Dad's "name" was always the most important value in his life. Never disgrace the family name. And Dad...he could always hold his head up high and be proud!! He was also the proud recipient of an honorable discharge from the United States Navy and Navy Reserves serving four years. And what a handsome sailor he made!! Dad loved to golf and was a member at the Inwood Spartans AC. He was an advent sportsman who loved to deer hunt, ride and race motorcycles, build sports cars and hot rods. He even built his own boat. He was a member of the Inwood VFW and the Kiwanis Club. Mom was always by his side and behind him on his bike. They rode together for many years. Dad was such a handsome man.....mom never let him out of her sight!! Dad and Mom retired to Florida in 1992. They have resided here since with their children and grand children close by. Dad was always there for his children, no matter what they needed. We all knew we could go to "Daddy" at any time. Dad did not know how to say the word "no". He was definitely a man of Yes. Daddy we love you and will miss you very much. You will always be with us in our hearts.
