Nicola Alfieri, 77, of Tamarac, FL died on October 14, 2014. Nicola was born on December 23, 1936 in Apricena (in the province of Foggia), Italy to Leonardo Alfieri and Maria Ferrara. After immigrating to New York in 1954, Nick began building his American dream. After some time, he was able to begin working as a chef. He was an extremely talented culinary artist and found great joy in providing feasts for many, especially family functions. Nick was a strong man, always on the move and quick to offer his helping hands to those in need. He was a bright and light hearted man with so much to share with anyone who would listen. His personality was larger than life and was loved by many. Nicola is survived by his wife, Peggy; his beloved children, Anthony Alfieri, Maria Angela Dunne, Evelina Alfieri, Giuseppe Alfieri, Mario Alfieri, Gina Alfieri, Karen Reith, and Brenda Crocker; his adored grandchildren, Holly, Jamie, Amanda, Haley, Michael, Eric, Aubrien, Michael, Kaitlyn, and Nicholas, Leonardo and Emilio; and his sister, Evelina. He was preceded in death by two sons, both named Leonardo. On Friday, October 17, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. the family will be receiving guests for a Memorial Gathering at Coral Springs Funeral Home, 1420 N. University Drive, Coral Springs, FL 33071, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 A.M.
