Michelle Downey, 43, beloved mother, daughter and sister, died of an aneurysm in Florida on January 3, 2015. Michelle and her son run a pet grooming business in Florida. She had a passion for the welfare of animals. She was an energetic, fun-loving, free-spirited soul. There will forever be a hole in our hearts because of her loss.

Michelle was predeceased by her mother, Barbara Schmitz Downey. She is survived by her son, Jeffery Yakencheck; her father, Michael (Candy); sisters, Melissa (Cecil), and Deanna; brothers, Michael (Lindsey), Matt (Eugenia), Ben and Brian; stepmother, Sheila; stepdaughter, Kristin; five nieces and nephews as well as aunts and uncles.

Services will be held on Wednesday, January 7 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Coral Springs Funeral Home, 1420 N. University Drive, Coral Springs, FL 33071. Donations can be made to the Florida Humane Society or CNY SPCA.
