Michel H. Gaspard, loving husband, father, grandfather, mentor, and friend, left this world on October 27, 2019. He was 93 years old.

Michel was born and lived most of his life in Haiti. He married the love of his life, Lydie Samedi, and together they had 4 children, whom they raised in a house he lovingly built in Delmas, Haiti. In his professional life, Michel worked as a CPA, first for Haiti's National Bank (BNRH), then for the former trade organization, 'Magasins de l'État', and later for the 'Presses Nationales'. After retirement, Michel continued to work from home as a free-lanced accountant for many local businesses. He was very civic-minded and enjoyed doing pro-bono work as well for the many small businesses that solicited his services.

Michel was a spiritual man who studied mysticism while faithfully practicing his Catholic faith. He was a mentor and an inspiration to many. He quietly and diligently provided financial and emotional support to all those who asked. He was hard working, honest, kind-hearted, and generous to a fault.

Michel was full of life. He loved to joke and tell stories. He loved to laugh and have others laugh with him. He loved to be with friends and family. He loved to travel. He had a curious mind and was interested in many things. In his later years, illness robbed him of most of his natural energy, but he remained kind and never complained, nor did he ever succumb to self-pity.

With his passing, a bright light has left this world. But his light will continue to shine through the legacy of love he leaves behind and through the memories that his family and friends will forever cherish.

Visitation for Mr. Gaspard will be on Sunday, November 3, 2019 from 3:00PM-7:00PM at Coral Springs Funeral Home with a Funeral Service to take place at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery. After the interment, there will be a repast to celebrate Michel Gaspard's life at the Marriott Courtyard Coral Springs (620 N. University Drive) from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
