Michael O'Brien, 59, of Coral Springs, entered into eternal peace on April 19, 2015 in his home surrounded by his family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Mike was one of the world's true unsung heroes, hard working, honorable, always there to help others. He lived to make life easier not only for his family and friends, but everyone he met. Mike was an active member of First Church Coral Springs where he participated in many outreach programs. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Mindy O'Brien, 2 sons, Michael, Jr. and his wife Erin, King of Prussia, PA, Matthew O'Brien and his wife Samantha, Boynton Beach and 2 daughters, Morgan Fuentes and her husband Cesar, Deerfield Beach and Mallory Franco and her husband, Joseph, Margate. He was "Pop" to 6 amazing grandchildren, Matthew Jr., Mikayla, Sebastian, Jackson, Hudson and Natalie all of whom brightened his every day and truly made his life complete. He is also survived by 1 brother, Bernard and 4 sisters, Patti McRae, Barbara Reaves, Cass Fullerton and Theresa Speight. He also leaves behind 25 nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Mike's life will be held on Saturday, May 2 at 2pm in the Sanctuary of First Church Coral Springs at 8650 W. Sample Rd. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to a special fund honoring Mike through First Church, which will be used for Mission and Outreach Opportunities that were close to his heart.
