Our beloved Maud Gwendolyn Williamson was called home on June 6th, 2022 at the age of 98.

She was born on December 30th, 1923 in Morgans Pass, in the parish of Clarendon, Jamaica, to Lydia Moen and John Williamson; both of whom predeceased her. Although having little formal education, she was very ambitious, worked hard, saved her money, and put herself through beauty school. She was a quick study and a perfectionist, and with her hard work she opened her own beauty parlour; which she successfully operated for decades. In 1980 she emigrated from Jamaica to the USA, and became a certified Home Health Aide. Her kindness, compassion, professionalism, and caring nature, endeared her to clients, their families, and also her supervisors. Mama Will, Miss Will, and Miss Maud, as she was affectionately known, was passionate about cooking (varied cuisines), home decorating, gardening, and hosting dinner parties.

In addition to her parents, Maud was preceded in death by her sisters, Ellen, Vera, and Pearl. Also brothers Lorenzo, Grennan, and levy. She is survived by her daughter Lin, grandson Sadeq, sister Cynthia, nephews, cousins, nieces, and very dear friends. Maud was a kind, generous, selfless, graceful, loving, and God-fearing lady, whose humanity attracted people to her.
