Known by friends and family as Sue, she was born August 19, 1950 in Schenectady, New York the eldest child of Richard and Miriam Bowles.

Sue graduated from Northport High School in Northport, NY in 1968 and married Thomas Burns on July 11, 1970 they resided in Syracuse, NY for 34 years.

Sue worked in the insurance industry as a commercial underwriter for over 25 years where she received numerous certifications and accolades. As a kidney transplant recipient, Sue's true passion was working for the National Kidney Foundation of Central New York, where she held the position of Director of Administration. Part of Sue's responsibilities included; coordinating activities for Team Central New York at the National Transplant games, overseeing the Cars for Kidneys program and the Kidney Walks.

She is survived by: her husband of 51 years: Thomas Burns of Tamarac, Fl. Sons: Brian Burns and Kyle Burns & (wife) Jennifer. Grandchildren: Kayla and Jackson Siblings: Elizabeth, Rick, Margaret, Kathy and Stephen Numerous Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.
