Mark Priebis passed away Wednesday morning at the age of 58. He passed peacefully in his sleep at his home in Boynton Beach. Mark was born in Miami on November 7, 1954 to parents Fred and Dolores Priebis. Some years of his childhood were spent in Chicago where he was surrounded by family. He was an only child. In his youth, besides graduating high school, Mark achieved many great things in scouting. He was very proud of earning the Arrow of Light, Silver Beaver Award, Eagle Scout Award, and his Vigil Honor. All his life, he was dedicated to scouting and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone, especially a scouting brother. Mark was married to Sandra and had four children: Fred, Matthew, Pamela, and Mary. Mark's oldest son Fred married Anne, and Matthew married Brook shortly after. Mark is also survived by four grandchildren: from his daughter Mary, Matthew was born; from Fred and Anne, Tristan was born; from Matthew and Brook, Austin and Ethan were born. Mark was a wonderful father and a loving, caring person who valued his family very much. That love also carried over to his greatly extended family, including the lives he touched all throughout his childhood, scouting years, and adulthood. He had a wonderful, and sometimes sick, sense of humor that most people loved him for. Mark always had a gift for telling stories and embellishing more hilarious details with each telling. Everyone knew when Mark was done playing around when you got his signature warning of, "Don't piss on my boot and tell me it's rain water!" Some of Mark's happiest moments were his children graduating high school, his sons receiving their eagle and vigil honors, the birth of his grandchildren, and the constant love, support, and bonding time he had with his oldest daughter. All of Mark's friends have wonderful stories of love, laughter, and good times. Mark will always be remembered as a loving father, a devoted scouter, a great friend, and an all around beautiful person. The people that knew Mark best know that he is always with them in spirit and his legacy will live on.
