Marilyn Hurst  (1925 - August 14, 2022)

Marilyn, 96 years old, passed away on August 14, 2022 in Pompano Beach, FL.  Pre-deceased by her husband, Jack, she is survived by her son, Ron Burris of Renton, WA, daughter, Randi Gentit of Pompano Beach, FL,  3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 4 great grand-dogs.

Originally from Seattle, Marilyn lived in Dallas, Atlanta, Melbourne and Fort Lauderdale, FL. Early in her career she worked for Boeing Company as one of their first female supervisors. Formerly a shoe model, she was never without a cute pair of heels.  With a flare for adventure, she once spent a year sailing the Caribbean. Marilyn was creative as well.  (Her children fondly remember the Christmas tree skirt she designed with a full array of blinking lights.  She controlled the lights via remote control in her pocket)!  She never lost her sense of humor, sharp wit, or a love for helping others. Over the years she found great joy spending time with her family and volunteering with several charitable organizations. She loved people, socializing, gardening, home decorating, fashion, and event planning.

Everyone that knew Marilyn loved her.  She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and true friend.  She will be sorely missed by all.
