Obituary

In Loving Memory of Marie Maryse Laurent Marie Maryse Laurent better known as "Ata" was born in Jeremie, Haiti on October 14, 1932. She was the daughter of Marie Leontine Pacaud and Thomson Pacaud. She was the only daughter but had a brother by the name of Bishop Emile Jean-Louis Mitau. Ata has been married to her husband Louis Amicle Laurent for 58 years. They lived in Haiti most of their lives before they came to the United States to live with their eldest Son Jean Robert Laurent and his family. Mr. and Mrs. Amicle Laurent have 7 children. Micheline Laurent is the oldest, then Mr. and Mrs.Jean Robert Laurent, Marie Claude Laurent, Marie Josette Laurent, Father Jean Sterling Laurent, Mrs. Marie Blandine Edouard Laurent and her spouse, Mr. and Mrs. Jean Marie Kenel Laurent and Marie Josabelle Laurent. That is not including her cousins, nieces, and nephews, etc. She was also a wonderful grandmother to her 9 grandchildren. Marie Bruno is the oldest grandchild then we have Ricardo Bruno, Karl Mathurin, Jeanna Laurent, Alain Mathurin, Fleurian Germain, Aurelie Germain, Alicia Laurent, and Kervins Christo Laurent. She's been blessed with 3 great-grand children. Richma Antoine, her little sister Jayla Lamour and Joel Bruno. God called Ata home Tuesday September 04,2012 at Florida Medical Center. "The Lord gave, and The Lord has taken away, blessed be the name of the Lord. (Jobs 1:21). Ata was a warm and compassionate mother who always went out of her way to help others - no matter what. She was a proud and dignified person who had a strong love for life, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had a wonderful spirit which endeared her to everyone she came in contact with and it is a great testament to her nature. She formed so many long lasting friendships over the years, many of you here today. Ata has always been the family's support, strength and comfort when times have been tough. We don't know how we will cope without her - it leaves a massive hole in our family. But we will draw strength from the things she has taught us and from the Grace of God. She loved the Lord and was a great servant. We gather here today to celebrate her life, as well as mourn the loss of a lively, dignified soul. A soul that brought joy and fulfillment to many, and whose legacy will live on forever. It is an honor for us to share with everyone the precious memories of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all, but her memory will live in us forever.
