Margaret "Peggy" Richards, 61, of Dania, FL passed away on February 2, 2016 after a valiant 13 year battle with cancer. Born in New York City, NY to Kenneth and Mary Galbraith on July 1, 1954. Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Don; her children, Justin and Amanda; and her mother, Mary. Also left to cherish her memory are sisters, Suzanne and Barbara; brother-in-law, Fred; her nieces and nephews, Jonathan, Juli, and Kenny; and great nephew, Tytan.
Peggy attended school in Connecticut to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. After completing nursing school, she moved to South Florida to be near her parents and began working at University Hospital. After a few years in nursing, she switched her career path and began working as a flight attendant with Eastern Airlines. Peggy yearned to be back in the nursing field and so she returned to school to become a Registered Nurse. Upon completion, Peggy would become a Labor and Delivery Nurse for several local hospitals but ultimately worked within the Memorial System. Her love of children made her one of the best on the floor.
Peggy could best be described as loving, gentle and most of all, elegant. She had a special place for those in her family, but also loved all children and animals. Her elegance was that of a woman born in a different era. Her collection of Gone With The Wind, Titanic, and all things Princess Diana only emphasize her grace. Peggy was a lover of the beach. She also had a passion for sewing, knitting, and crocheting as well as reading. Her patience, kindness, and loving touch will long be treasured.
