Margaret “Peggy” Kistner, 94, of Port St. Lucie completed her journey on July 18, 2026, and was welcomed into the Lord’s arms. Left to cherish her memory are her 3 children, Joe Jr. (Dawn), Peggy Ann (Dan) and Philip (Denise). Her 5 grandchildren, Abigail, Erica, Rian, Philip Jr, Annelise and 2 great grandchildren, Timothy, and Trinity. She is also survived by her sister Anne and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her loving husband Joe of 61 years. Her parents, Peggy and John, and 4 brothers John, Phil, Pete and Tom.
Peggy was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 7, 1932, to Peggy and John Gallagher. She graduated from Little Flower Catholic High School for girls. Peggy would work for Bell Systems, PSE&G and retired from Zurbrugg Memorial Hospital as a telephone operator. She would meet the love of her life Joe in high school. They were married on April 11, 1953, and lived in Cherry Point, NC until returning to Philadelphia. Peggy and Joe would welcome three children into the world and built a beautiful home for the family in Springfield Township, NJ. Making memories with their children, extended family and friends for decades. Peggy’s Catholic faith was prominent in her life as well as her family.
Peggy was proud of her Irish heritage and would say she was the first generation in the United States. Peggy volunteered as homeroom mother at her children’s school. She would sew outfits and costumes for her children. Peggy was the life of the party and when music started, she would dance, dance, dance. She will be missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Treasure Coast Hospice at https://treasurehealth.org.
Please remember it’s South Florida in the summer, please dress accordingly for heat and humidity.\
