Liliane Marie-Therese Gonin, 90, of North Lauderdale, FL died on Sunday, May 4, 2014 surrounded by family. Liliane was born on November 19, 1923 in Fort de France, Martinique to Pierre and Amelie Martinis. Liliane moved to New Jersey by way of Puerto Rico in 1956 with her two young daughters in tow. She later had another daughter and son while living in the Northeast. Liliane had an incredible sense of humor and loved to make her family laugh. She never turned away food and was partial to bialys and sweets. In her free time, Liliane enjoyed gardening and reading. She might also be found watching Matlock or something starring Chuck Norris. Liliane is survived by her daughters, Maryvonne (Thomas) Krehel, Chantal Stalica, and Viviane (Robert) Cooper Son, Philippe Gonin Grandchildren, Christina, Kelly, Holly, and Amanda Great Grandchildren, Liliane and Charlie and Sisters: Gisele (Mickey) and Malou. Liliane was preceded in death by her siblings, George, Madeleine, and Berthe; and her son-in-law, Rick Stalica, died a mere 23 hours after she did. A Memorial Gathering will be held at Coral Springs Funeral Home on Friday, May 9, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a Memorial Service to begin at 7:00 P.M.
