Obituary

Lewis D. Tooker, Jr. passed away on March 28, 2016 after a difficult, decade long battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born in Great Neck, Long Island, New York to Lewis and Caroline Tooker.

Lewis was very successful in the development industry, having worked for building giants such as Levitt and Sons, Multicon Corporation, and Klingbiel Homes. He also served as President of Mobile Townes Corporation. The Tookers relocated to South Florida in the 1970s, where Lewis continued his work as a builder and developer. His most notable accomplishment in Florida was Silver Lakes Development in Pembroke Pines, FL while working with Forrest City of Cleveland.

At the time of his passing, Lewis had shared 44 wonderful years with his wife, Carolyn, his primary caretaker during his illness. He is also survived by 3 children: Gerry Tooker, Chris Fuqua and Dan Tooker; and 4 grandchildren, Arien Lawless, Nick Dombey, Rachel and Michael Tooker.

The family will be holding a Memorial Gathering in Lewis' honor at Coral Springs Funeral Home on Saturday, April 30, 2016, from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. with a Memorial Service starting at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you honor Lewis' memory by making a donation to Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital, a cause he deeply believed in.

Having served our country in the Air Force, Mr. Tooker will be laid to rest in a private service at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL.
