Larry O'Brien, age 65, of Coral Springs, Florida entered the gates of heaven on Monday, April 10, 2023, at 8:00 PM. Larry was born in Englewood, New Jersey on June 11, 1957, to Donald & Lorraine Meltz . Larry lived in New Jersey until he was 17 y rs old and then moved to Florida which became his forever home .

Larry was immensely proud of all the jobs he performed throughout his life, from vari ou s construction jobs as a younger man , a Police Officer for the City of Fort Lauderdale, FL for 7 years and an Electrician and Automation Manager at Cemex for 39 years , until his retirement in November of 2022.

At 6'9" , Larry was a giant of a man with the kind est and most gentle nature that was infectious to be around. He enjoyed the relaxation of taking care of his yard , surfing the latest headline news on his phone and tablet, reading an enjoyable book and was an amateur food critic.

S urvived by his loving and devoted wife Margaret O'Brien, daughter Kimberley (Patrick) Sanchez of Coral Springs FL, Christopher ( Rhonda ) Castleberry of Altha, FL, grandchildren Christa ( Ga i ge ) Hansford and Stacey ( Tim ) Partridge of Altha , FL . His mother Lorraine Meltz, two brothers Timothy & Patrick O'Brien , sister Cheryl O'Brien and sister-in-law Nadia O'Brien. Proceeded in death by Father Donald Meltz and brother William "Bill" O'Brien.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be on Friday, April 14, 2023, f rom 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Coral Springs Funeral Home 1420 N . University Dr . Coral Springs, FL 33071 .
