Julia Turizo Tafur, 96, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013 in the company of her loving family. She was born Wednesday, September 27, 1916 in Mompos, Colombia to the late Gabriel Turizo and Ana Juaquina Tafur. She is survived by her two daughters: Yolanda Giacometto and Mirian Campo. Additionally, she is survived by her granddaughters: Ingrid Giacometto, Peggy Giacometto, Gina Giacometto, Sofia Campo, Gina Champlin and her grandson Jose Giacometto. She loved cooking delicious meals for her family and knitting. She was a deeply spiritual woman who was devoted to God and spent her time in prayer. She left this world the same way she entered it, in peace and happiness. Visitation will take place on Monday, March 25, 2013 from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. with a wake service at 2:00 P.M. with Deacon Jose Bermudez officiating. Entombment will follow at 3:15 P.M. with Deacon Mario Lopez officiating at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery in North Lauderdale, Florida.
