Pino
August 14, 1945 – March 17, 2024
Juan Alberto Pino, age 78, passed away on Sunday March 17, 2024.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jo, of 57 years; his children, Kathy (Paul) Rod, Juan Manuel (Camelia) Pino, and Ricardo (Aileen) Pino. Grandchildren, Elizabeth Rod and Christopher Rod. Brothers, Manuel (Maryori) Pino and Rodolfo (Barbara) Pino.
He was preceded in death by both parents. Juan was born on August 14, to Lidia Patiño- Patroni and Manuel Pino Silva in Callao, Peru. Juan's childhood was spent in Lima, Peru. Juan was educated by the Jesuits, La Imaculada in Lima and San Jose in Arequipa.
Juan left Peru in the mid 60's and moved to Dubuque, Iowa to attend Loras College. While there, he met the love of his life, Mary Jo. They married and had 2 children before moving to Peru. In the early 70's Juan was employed by the Cerro de Pasco Mining Corp., later called Centromin Peru, as a manager in Industrial Relations in La Oroya, and while there, a third child was born.
Juan was a member and president of the International Rotary Club, La Oroya. As well as, a Member/President of La Oroya Golf Club, winning various tournaments. His passion was golf, but he excelled in every sport he participated in. He was Peru's National Golf Champion in 1980, and represented Peru in several international tournaments; his lowest under par score being 64. Summers were spent in Punta Hermosa, Peru where he loved swimming in the Pacific Ocean.
Centromin Peru transferred Juan and his family to the USA. After the company closed their office, the family decided to stay in FL and Juan obtained US citizenship. He joined RLH Inc. Import/Export, and later Origami LTD, where he remained until his passing. Juan loved spending time with his entire family, valued his life-long friends, was always working hard to provide for his family and was dedicated to his job. He was honest, outgoing, social, interested in everything, loved listening to Peruvian music, dancing and making pisco sours.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
A celebration of life for Juan will be held Friday April 5th, 2024 from 4pm to 7pm at Coral Springs Funeral Home, 1420. N. University Drive, Coral Springs FL 33071.
