Joseph LaFata, 92, of Margate, FL passed away on April 8, 2015. Born on September 17, 1922 in Highland Park, Michigan, Joe was a first generation American of Italian descent.

Joe worked as a machinist for the automotive and aviation industries. He married the love of his life, Freida Thomas. Their marriage was a honeymoon that spanned four decades. They loved to travel and were frequent Cruisers, but their favorite vacation destination was visiting family and friends in Maine. Joe loved spending time with his family and had a wonderful way with children. He was also an avid golfer and a huge baseball fan.

Predeceased by his wife Freida, his son Frank, his brother in laws Robert Andrews, Frederick Thomas, Frank Parlee; sister in law Natalie Parlee; and grandson in law Frank Herzberg. Survived by his granddaughters, Tammy (Ernie) Spardy and Sherri Herzberg; sister in laws Marion Andrews and Lilian Thomas; stepson James (Sharon) Looke; and numerous nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 10, 2015 from 7:00PM to 9:00PM at Coral Springs Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at Noon at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, where Joe will be laid to rest.
