Joseph Avarello, Jr., 65, of Coral Springs, FL died Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born February 11, 1949 in Brooklyn, NY, to Joseph and Josephine Avarello. Upon graduating from high school, Joe joined the United States Navy where he served for two years earning a National and Vietnam Service Medal. In 1987, Joe married Jill Ecker Avarello and together they began a family in Chappaqua. They later moved to Coral Springs, FL where they raised their two children. An entrepreneur, Joe owned and operated A&E Fuel Corporation. He had a true passion for fishing, boating and going to the beach. A man with a great sense of humor, he was known for his jokes- whether it was the appropriate time or not. Joe was also a loyal friend and enjoyed his weekly get togethers at the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek or a friend's house for a game of cards. Joe coached baseball for his son, Alex, and often went to the movies with his daughter, Nicole. He also had a special place in his heart for dogs and, most recently, Alex's dog, Jimbo. Joseph is survived by his beloved wife, Jill Avarello; his children, Anthony Avarello, Joseph Avarello III, Alex Avarello, and Nicole Avarello. Joe also leaves his grandchildren, Joseph IV and Dominic; his parents, Joseph and Josephine Avarello; and a brother, Jules Avarello to cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jahn Avarello. A Funeral Service will be held at 7:30 A.M. on Friday, March 7, 2014 at Coral Springs Funeral Home, with burial to follow at South Florida National Cemetery.
