José Enrique Berthé, de 90 años de edad, General de División de la Guardia Nacional de Venezuela, residenciado en Coral Springs, Florida, ha fallecido cristianamente el día martes 3 de febrero de 2026.

Pasó sus últimos días rodeado del amor de sus hijos: Belén Berthé, José Enrique Berthé, Glenda Berthé, Xiomara y Jacquelin Rincón; sus nietos: Sasha, Estefanía, José Luis, Daniel, Mateo, Vanesa, Glenda Desiree, José Alberto, Jeanette, Jackie, Jennifer; sus bisnietos: Mía, Giuseppe, Athina, Rocco, Thiago, Sebastián, José, Dani, Juan, Mateo, Valentina, Victoria, George, Carla y Gabriel.

José Enrique nació en la ciudad de La Guaira, Venezuela, sus padres fueron Miguel Sanz Febres y Antonia Berthé. Creció en Tovar, Mérida y cursó estudios en La Escuela de Formación de Oficiales de las Fuerzas Armadas de Cooperación en Caracas, graduado en el año 1954 como integrante de la promoción Batalla de Araure y obtuvo posteriormente en la Universidad Santa María su título de Abogado. Contrajo matrimonio con Aurora Morillo.

José Enrique Berthé, dentro de su desarrollo profesional, además de ostentar cargos importantes coronó su Carrera militar como Comandante General de la Guardia Nacional en el año de 1983.

Hoy, en el día de su reencuentro con el Señor, honramos la vida de un hombre que fue no solo un extraordinario oficial, un esposo devoto de Aurora, sino también un maravilloso padre y abuelo, caballero en toda la extensión de la palabra. El General J.E.Berthé encarnó con dignidad los valores más altos del servicio: liderazgo, disciplina y honor, representando con nobleza la verdadera esencia de la Guardia Nacional de Venezuela.

Su legado permanecerá imperecedero entre quienes tuvimos el privilegio de conocerlo y compartir junto a él. Lo recordaremos por sus enseñanzas, por su nobleza de espíritu, su humildad, su inteligencia y su bondad, así como por ese corazón generoso que siempre demostró hacia sus semejantes.

José Enrique Berthé, 90 years old, a Major General of the Venezuelan National Guard, residing in Coral Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

He is survived by his children: Belén Berthé, José Enrique Berthé, Glenda Berthé, Xiomara and Jacquelin Rincón; his grandchildren: Sasha, Estefanía, José Luis, Daniel, Mateo, Vanesa, Glenda Desiree, José Alberto, Jeanette, Jackie, and Jennifer; and his great-grandchildren: Mía, Giuseppe, Athina, Rocco, Thiago, Sebastián, José, Dani, Juan, Mateo, Valentina, Victoria, George, Carla, and Gabriel.

José Enrique was born in the city of La Guaira, Venezuela, to parents Miguel Sanz Febres and Antonia Berthé. He grew up in Tovar, Mérida and studied at the School for Officer Training of the Armed Forces of Cooperation in Caracas, graduating in 1954 as a member of the Battle of Araure class. He later earned his law degree from Santa María University. He married Aurora Morillo.

José Enrique Berthé, in the course of his professional development, in addition to holding important positions, culminated his military career as Commander General of the National Guard in 1983.

Today, on the day of his reunion with the Lord, we honor the life of a man who was not only an extraordinary officer and a devoted husband to Aurora, but also a wonderful father and grandfather, a gentleman in every sense of the word. General J.E. Berthé embodied with dignity the highest values of service: leadership, discipline, and honor, nobly representing the true essence of the Venezuelan National Guard.

His legacy will remain forever in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him and spending time with him. We will remember him for his teachings, his noble spirit, his humility, his intelligence and his kindness, as well as the generous heart he always showed towards others.
