Jorge Guillermo Osorio, 81, of Sunrise, Florida passed away on November 25, 2015 surrounded by his family. Born on June 28, 1934 in Bogota, Colombia to the late Matthias and Ins Osorio, he is survived his beloved wife, Zoraida; his children, Rafael Osorio (Nayibe), Dario Osorio, Sr. (Laurie), Lucia Esteves (Manuel), Zoraida Camellon, Matthias Osorio, Jorge G. Osorio, Jr., Erika Osorio and John M. Osorio. His grandchildren, Yuriko De La Cruz, Julio De La Cruz (Manami), Dario Osorio, Jr., Angelica Tovar (Carlos), George W. Osorio (Monica), Catalina Osorio, Nicholas Osorio, Sabrina Osorio, and Jackson Osorio; his great grandchildren, Armando Tejeda, Alejandro De La Cruz, Lucas Zambrana, Cerrie De La Cruz, Mya Osorio, Alexander De La Cruz, Adrian Tovar, Alessandra Tovar, and Gianna Osorio; and his brothers, Francisco Osorio and Gustavo Osorio are also left to cherish his memory. Jorge is lovingly remembered by his brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, godchildren and extended family. He was preceded in death by his son, John H. Osorio, and his brothers, Juan Osorio and Armando Osorio, and his sister, Ins Good. Jorge proudly served in Las Fuerzas Armadas de Colombia, South America and was honorably discharged. In August of 1965, he came to the United States and settled in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Jorge's wife and children later joined him in December of that year. After retiring from General Motors in April of 1990, Jorge moved to West Palm Beach before settling in Sunrise, Florida. Jorge was a father figure to so many children besides his own. He was always a very giving man, finding ways to create something from nothing all while serving God and his family. Jorge was always of good nature as he found joy and humor in every moment and he was quick to make people smile with a joke or sing them a song. A faithful attendant to the Lord, he was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in New Jersey and of All Saints Catholic Church and St. Bernard Catholic Church in Florida. His generosity, joy, and love will never be forgotten. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, November 29, 2015 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. and on Monday, November 30, 2015 from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Coral Springs Funeral Home, 1420 N. University Drive, Coral Springs, FL 33071. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at All Saints Catholic Church.
