Jonathas Francis Joseph--Tatas to his family and friends--passed away on June 30, 2016 in Miami, FL at the age of 86.

He was born in Haiti on February 25, 1930 to wonderful parents and many siblings who doted on him.

He left home seeking work elsewhere in the Caribbean and ended up in the Bahamas where he met a beautiful woman of Jamaican heritage. She bore him a little girl whom he loved with all his heart.

With his daughter, he moved to South Florida, where his life revolved around that child and the joy and laughter they brought each other.

He landed at Burdines where he worked many wonderful years. His enthusiasm for people served him well as he was able to interact with the public.

He retired in 1992 and got a part-time job working at a senior community center continuing to bring a smile and a laugh to all he met.

He found solace and serenity in the bible, and you could always find him with one on his person, well worn and lovingly annotated.

He was kind, loving, humorous, and generous, and loved by all who met him.

He is survived by his daughter, granddaughter, son-in-law and nieces and nephews.

He will be deeply missed.
