IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Thomas
Vignari
February 19, 1951 – May 12, 2025
John T. Vignari
February 19, 1951 – May 12, 2025
John Vignari passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025, at the age of 74 in Parkland, Florida. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on February 19, 1951, the son of Rose and John Vignari.
John's first and deepest love was music. A gifted bass player in his youth, one of his proudest memories was performing at the iconic CBGB's in New York City opening for ACDC in 1977. Music remained a constant in his life—his refuge, his joy, his heartbeat.
In 1988, John married his love, friend, and life partner, Georgeann, and together they built a warm and lively home in Cranford, New Jersey. In 1994, they welcomed their son, Lucas, who would become the center of John's world.
John enjoyed a vibrant 25-year career in the New York City fashion industry, culminating in 8 years as president of a menswear company "Address Unknown". The role suited him perfectly—he thrived in the world of style, creativity, and the ever-moving energy of the city he adored.
In 2008, John and his family relocated to Parkland, Florida, where he embraced a warmer climate and a slower pace, but never lost his spark. John was truly one of a kind—delightfully eccentric, fiercely loyal, and endlessly friendly. He had a rare gift for conversation and an even rarer talent for making people laugh until they cried.
Beneath his occasionally tough exterior was a deeply caring and gentle soul. He was a man who could change the vibe in any room -not just by adjusting the lights, seating, or following you around with a dust buster—but by filling the space with curiosity, humor, and heart. He had a lifelong love of Sports and a devoted NY Mets-Jets- Knicks fan, a passion he shared with his son Lucas in countless conversations and games watched together.
John loved the simple pleasures of life: working around the house, relaxing in his backyard, listening to Howard Stern, watching outrageous reality shows, and always music. His passion was Rock music, and nothing brought him more pleasure than catching a live show, especially when his lifelong friends were still up on stage doing what they loved.
He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, loyalty, and love. John is survived by his wife Georgeann; his son Lucas and daughter-in-law Danielle; his stepmother Frances; and his four sisters: Alexis, June, Roxanne, and Justina. He was a treasured husband, father, father-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend.
In honor of John's enduring love for music, the family kindly requests that donations be made to https://donor.musicares.org/-/XYSWFCZJ
John will be deeply missed—and never forgotten.
