Obituary

John (Jack) O'Connell passed away on November 12, 2013 at the age of 85. He was born on April 3, 1928 in Washington D.C. Being a child born of the great depression he was hard working man all his life. He started out working for the newspaper as a teenager before going to school each day. He served in the army during the Korean War. He later graduated from accounting school and worked in that field up to his passing. He had three children from his first marriage to Dolores Galeano. Jack moved from Washington DC to Florida in the early 1960's. He also has lived in Delaware, North Carolina and northern Florida. He returned to South Florida in 2004 up until his passing. He lived life to the fullest always helping others first and taking care of himself second. He was kind and generous to all who knew him. His patented WOODY WOODPECKER call delighted children and adults alike. He loved children and making them laugh. He likened himself to an amateur comedian always having a joke or funny story to share with whoever he was with. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Jack is preceded in death by his late daughter Debra. Jack is survived by his sister Barbara Bobbitt, sons John and Ed, Daughter in law Peggy, and grandsons Justin, Stephen, David, and Kevin.
