John Patrick McLaughlin, 72, of Coconut Creek FL entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 21, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Eileen McLaughlin as well as their four children, Chris, Jason, Joy and Dave. Also left to cherish his memory are his 9 grandchildren, Matt, Ryan, Shaun, Katie, Elliot, Ava, Riley, Savannah, and Carolyn.

John was born on 4/26/51 in New York to Mary and John McLaughlin. He worked 17 years at Con Edison as a lineman in Rye New York. After moving to Florida, he worked 28 years with FPL as a lineman and foreman. John worked many 16-hour days especially after hurricanes and never complained. Of late, he enjoyed the friendships and fellowship with the parishioners of St. Vincent Catholic Church.

John is remembered by his wife as a loving, humble, and true gentleman. He always opened a door for her and carried an umbrella over her as he walked her to the car. Eileen describes him as the love of her life whom she will miss dearly. John is remembered by his children as strong, tough, hard-working and always there for them. John enjoyed fishing, kayaking, and bike riding with his family. John taught and role-modeled his children the skills and characteristics that are needed to be good parents.

John loved going to the woodshop and making things for all his friends and family. He really enjoyed hanging out Tommy and Jimmy, and learned so much from Tommy.
