Joel Robert Spingarn, 71, of Coral Springs, FL passed away in peace on November 4th, 2020, surrounded by his loved ones.

Joel was born in 1949 in Newark, NJ, and grew up in Rahway, NJ alongside his caring younger sister, Andrea. Joel enlisted for service in the Coast Guard in 1967. He served for four years, including one year overseas in Vietnam. Shortly thereafter, he met the love of his life, Carmen. They married in 1976, and moved to Florida in 1980, settling in Coral Springs in 1985 where they would then raise their two sons.

Joel was known by all as a wise, thoughtful, kind, and caring person. This made him well suited for his career as a financial planner. Helping people was his passion; because of this, he never stopped working. Everyone he'd meet would get to hear some free advice on how to better themselves financially. He truly cared. His passions in retirement were his grandchildren, and traveling with Carmen.

Joel is survived by his wife, Carmen, his two sons Seth and Bill; his daughter-in-laws, Amanda and Djoeke; his four grandsons, Levi, Daniel, Oliver, and Ethan; and by his sister, Andrea. Joel is preceded in death by his parents, Leonora and William Spingarn.
