Obituary

Jed Chisho Oyasato, 50, of North Lauderdale, died on Saturday, May 17, 2014. Jed was born December 11, 1963 in Lihue on Kauai, Hawaii to George and Kimiye (Uejo) Oyasato. Jed practiced a form of martial arts called Ryu-Te from a young age. At his death, he had earned the rank of Kyoshi (7th degree black belt). Jed also loved to fish and travel. He dedicated his life to helping others and was a selfless individual. It was his policy to always have an open door for anyone in need. Jed spent many years working on airplanes for Avborne before becoming an ROV Technician for Oceaneering. A beloved father, son, brother, friend, and provider, he will be missed immensely. Jed is survived by his sisters, Norine Oyasato and Valerie Landfried; his mother, Kimiye Oyasato; his step-children, Crystal King, Stephan King, Amber King, and Heather King; and his granddaughter, Zoey Vernay. He also leaves his best friend, Manuel Agosto, to cherish his memory. Jed was preceded in death by his beloved dog, Shuri (half Akita & half Chow) . Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, May 23, 2014 at Coral Springs Funeral Home.
