Ileana Gonzalez, 45, of Pompano Beach, FL passed away on Friday, November 15, 2013. Ileana was born September 11, 1968 in Havana, Cuba to Jose and Teresita Gonzalez. In 1980, the family moved to California. Ileana later relocated to Long Island, NY where she married Tom Maragos on June 21, 1987. Together they had 2 children, Nickolas and Monica. The Maragos family made the move to South Florida, settling in Coconut Creek when the children were small. For a number of years Ileana was fortunate enough to be able to stay home and raise her children. When she returned to work, she worked weekends as a hair dresser. Recently, Ileana moved to Pompano Beach to be closer to the beach, which is somewhere she enjoyed spending free time. Ileana loved music and writing. She was a talented artist as well, and would refinish furniture and paint murals. She is survived by her children, Nickolas and Monica Maragos, her parents, Teresita and Jose Gonzalez; her sister, Ilse Escobar; and former husband, Tom Maragos.
