Obituary

Herbert "Herbie" Goldstein, a 32-year resident of Coral Springs passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 from congestive heart failure. He was 93½ years young. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, Herbert was a WWII veteran, history buff, a world traveler, a wine enthusiast, and lifelong lover of cars and classical music. For 42 years he worked at the General Motors assembly plant in Linden, NJ as a parts manager. Retiring to Coral Springs in 1981, he began his second career working at Lori-Al Cleaners making deliveries to customers throughout south Florida. He developed close relationships with his customers with his smile and his wit. Making people happy kept him young. Herbert took his second retirement at age 90 when he was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. With a positive attitude and support from his family and physicians he was in full remission. Herbert was with his family at the end of his life. He is survived by his loving wife Lita, son Louis, daughter Emily, three nieces, one nephew, and numerous extended family members. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, www.lls.org , or the American Heart Association, www.heart.org , in honor of Herbert Goldstein.
