Obituary

Mr. Harold Jackson (Jack) Huggins, 69, passed on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Florida Medical Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. .He was born November 7, 1944 to the late Dallas Frank Huggins and Lillian Bernice Huggins in Robeson County, North Carolina. A proud member of the Lumbee Indian Tribe, Mr. Huggins owned and operated S&H Service Center- Chevron Gas Station from 1970-1980 and also worked in the automotive industry and served as crew chief in funny car races until his retirement in 2006. His main passion and hobby was fishing. In 2009 he founded Tuscaroran Pro-Lures with his best friend, business partner, and "brother" Earl Carswell. He lived his life for his family and loved ones. He sought to make everyone laugh and was a self-proclaimed "World's Greatest Storyteller". He truly enjoyed his alone time with God whenever he fished in the Florida Everglades. He is preceded in death by his mother Lillian Bernice Huggins-September 19, 2006, his father Dallas Frank Huggins- Febuary 14,1966, and his brother James Dallas Huggins- August 30,1967. He is survived by Janet Weinraub, his faithful significant other for over 25 years, his 4 children, Jason (Kim) Huggins, Amy (Steve) Huggins Henson, Traci (John) Knight, and Tim Huggins, his 7 grandchildren, many beloved relatives, friends and avid bass anglers nationwide. Interment will be in Bethel Hill Cemetery, Lumberton, North Carolina on Saturday, November 30, 2013. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Vitas Hospice Care of Broward County, Florida. The Fisherman's Prayer God grant that I may live to fish Until my dying day. And when it comes to my last cast I then most humbly pray When in the Lord's safe landing net I am peacefully asleep, That in His mercy I'll be judged As good enough to keep.
