Obituary

Hannah Marie Bonta was born December 14, 1998 in Snellville, Georgia. She had a lot of curly dark hair, reddish skin and wanted to eat! She loved her mother Jan immensely from day one. While her mother was attending college she was cared for with great love by her cousin Candace Bowler. Up until 4 she spent a lot of time in the pool. She loved swimming and playing with her neighbor Brenna. She attended Great Beginnings Preschool along with Candace who was an employee and also took ballet lessons, performing in a recital called "Shall We Dance" with Brenna. Her mother and her moved to Florida in 2002 for job opportunities where she met a little blonde girl named Brie Biagioni. They have been inseparable friends until her death. The two little girls, one blond and one brunette traveled together to Ohio, and went to Coral Springs Elementary Schools until Hannah went to a charter school in 5th grade. They went camping together with Grandma and Papa at the R Ranch in Dahlonega, Georgia and dressed up in Hawaiian outfits for the "Luau". They loved it. Brie would come to Ohio with Jan and Hannah and they would play and catch lightning bugs that Brie had never seen. They have also been to Disney World many times. It was always Brie and Jordan Barberri and Hannah and Craig Newman to the end of her life.

When Hannah was old enough she played on a Little League softball travel team coach by Paul Lovito and went to a world championship and beat Japan to win. She met Kacie Cahill when she was on another team. These two girls were Coral Springs Panthers and Stoneman Douglas Eagles for many years. Hannah and Kacie spent summers travelling over the eastern United States in the team van with their coaches Kim and Michael Whalen.

She attended Marjory Stoneman Douglass High School where she was a good student and loved math and science. She graduated in 2017. She was offered a softball scholarship from LaGrange College in LaGrange, Georgia but eventually declined it to stay in Florida. Hannah was a food server at Bonefish Grill in Coral Springs, attending Broward College while applying for Nursing School.

As you can tell she was devoted to the people she loved, family and friends. The world lost a sweet, wonderful person and she would have been a loving nurse.

She is survived by her boyfriend of almost 4 years, Craig Newman, son of Scott and Diane; her father Keith Gregg, her half brother Alex Gregg and her paternal grandparents Robert and Debbie Gregg (GG) of Bessemer, Pa. Her maternal grandmother Sally Kirkland of Leetonia, Ohio where she spent her summers from the age of 4. Her Georgia friend and softball player Caitlyn Cantrell and her family. Friends Brie Biagioni, Kacie Cahill, and Abby Martinez.

She was preceded in death by her Papa Kirkland 10 weeks ago and her beloved dog Dipsy.

She was so looking forward to her 21st birthday, my dear sweet potato.
